Rest assured we'll be bringing you a full review as soon as we're able - in the meantime, here's what we know so far...

Best known these days for making Bluetooth speakers, US audio equipment manufacturer Altec Lansing has branched out into the world of DJ equipment with the announcement of a new pair of DJ-friendly cans that feature a built-in video camera.

Unveiled at the CES show in Las Vegas yesterday, the snappily named DVR DJ-Style Headphones featured 40mm drivers and will be available in spring/summer, with a suggested retail price of $200. They run on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that's said to last for seven hours, and also feature a built-in microphone, for when you simply want to use them for listening to music on your smartphone.

But it's the 1080p, 30fps camera and wi-fi capability that are the real news here, with the idea being that a DJ can live-stream their view of an event, either to nearby screens or to a website or app of their choice. Alternatively, you can store your footage on the headphones' internal 8GB of memory (expandable by up to 32GB thanks to the inclusion of an SD card slot) for editing and sharing later. Altec Lansing recommends the auto-editing app Magisto for this, but we can't see any reason you'd be obliged to use that and not any other video editor if you want to.
