Greek producer Vasilos comes to Spain's Induction Muzic
Three tracks here coming courtesy of Greek producer Andi Vasilos, whose work has previously featured on such labels as Batavia Records and Sundries.
First up is Hold Me Tight itself, which opens with a simple midtempo drum beat and hi-hats before bringing in the gorgeously warm, throbbing bassline that plays thoughout. A looping, barely-there vocal line then emerges, alongside some gentle tinkling on the old Joanna. Beyond that there are some 80s-ish synth strings and a breakdown of sorts, but really Hold Me Close ain't nothin' but a headnoddin' groove. Next comes a Tatsu Remix of the same, which opts for livelier, slightly techier drums, brings the vocal further forward in the mix and takes some of the fuzzy edges off the bassline, making for a rub that's perhaps a bit more accessible than the Original. Completing the package is Your Lovin', a male-vocalled affair that recalls the more soulful early 00s output of Om Records, but for the fact that it's underpinned by surprisingly tuff (but suitably slow-paced) tribal drums.
If you like your deep house on the more soulful side, this is one to check for sure.
