Label boss Damian Lazarus supplies the obligatory remix, sorry, 'reshape'

Internationally renowned DJ/producer Patrice Bäumel joins forces with Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito AKA Audiofly to produce a sublime track which then gets the remix treatment from Crosstown Rebels label boss Damian Lazarus. The result is stunning.

First up is the Original Mix, which starts out with shuffling ethnic drums and single synth notes, then is joined after a crashing sound by a simple bassline and pad sounds which build to an arpeggiated riff that really lifts the track. It's simple but highly effective and sounds almost progressive as it meanders through your senses. There's a breakdown where the kickdrum and the bassline duck out, and then it's off again on its merry way.

The Damian Lazarus Re-Shape takes the track in a completely different direction, with echoed snare hits and the female vocal line "no matter what I do" put through a filter so it comes in and out of focus throughout the track. The bassline is a repeated one-note in a random pattern, and again there's an arpeggiated sound but the whole track sounds completely different and a lot more techy than the original.

It's amazing how different the remix is from the original here, with eerie sounds in the mix and an entirely different feel to so many elements. It sounds like a completely different track, and in my opinion a better one - although both are pretty amazing and well worth listening to on your next download binge!
