A host of dance music legends are coming to the Golden Mile this summer

Last year saw the arrival on the festival scene of Back To The Old Pool, a rave nostalgia-fest that took place right outside Blackpool's world-famous seafront tower. Now, for 2018, the organisers are stepping things up a notch and expanding the operation to a three-day event simply named Blackpool Festival.

As is hardly surprising for a town more renowned for stag and hen nights than underground clubbing, it's a fairly mainstream line-up, so if you're looking to check out the lastest darling of Panorama Bar you might want to look elsewhere. Nevertheless, there's a broad variety of electronic music on offer across the Friday and Saturday, while the Sunday sees a change of pace as the festival morphs into Party On The Prom, a family-oriented event staged in association with Gloworm.

Friday's action is concentrated on the Main Stage, located on the Tower Festival Headland, where you can catch Faithless (DJ set), Roger Sanchez, Danny Howard, Endor, Josh Butler, Mason Maynard and Pirate Copy as well as a host of local DJ talent. But on the Saturday, several other stages come into play. The main stage will play host to Erick Morillo, Paul Oakenfold presents Spectrum, Todd Terry, Judge Jules, Seb Fontaine, Utah Saints, Graeme Park and more, but if trance is your bag then The Syndicate Reunion has Paul Oakenfold (playing a Perfecto Fluoro set), Solarstone, Marco V and Dave Pearce, among others, while rave revivalists More Cake welcome Altern 8, Slipmatt, Stu Allen and Mark XTC, as well as PAs from Oceanic and 2Funky2, and Sanctuary caters for the hard dance massive with the likes of Darren Styles, Public Domain, Ultrabeat, Andy Whitby and Porn Kings. For those who like their beats a little slinkier, there's also a VIP area hosted by Hed Kandi, where the DJ line-up includes David Dunne and many more, aided and abetted by Dax On Sax.

Tickets are available now, priced £35 (£50 VIP) for the Friday, £45 (£60 VIP) for the Saturday or £75 (£100 VIP) for both days. To get yours, click here.
