The Do Not Sleep man returns to Hot Creations
Darius Syrossian returns to Hot Creations for the first time since 2013's Who's The Douche? EP with this tech-house two-tracker.
On the A, Moxy itself is a dark, tracky affair, centred around rolling drums and an insistent pulsing b-line. Some rave-y piano vamps bring the light to what's otherwise quite a serious, heads-down affair, while an extended breakdown around the 3:15-4:00 mark provides the requisite big-room drama. S'good, but it's actually the B-side I'm feeling more here personally. Hï, It's Me (I'm not even gonna comment on the significance of that umlaut...) is another groovy, bass-y tech-houser, but is a little lighter on its feet than Moxy and sports a spoken female vocal that - echoing Jonny L's classic The Ansaphone - is seemingly sampled from a voicemail message: "Listen, I do not do VIP clubs or bottle service bullshit, so I don't think it's gonna work. Don't call me back, I'm deleting your number".
Two very solid tracks from Syrossian here that have that 3am "go all night" feeling in spades...
