The new unit features a 10-inch touchscreen – and can provide music to two rooms at once
Denon has announced a new four-channel, all-in-one DJ system called Prime 4. It'll be available from March, with a US retail price of $1,699 (UK pricing TBC).
The Prime 4 consists of two CDJ-style controllers, each with a six-inch jogwheel and HD central display, mounted either side of a mixer unit and a 10-inch, full colour multi-touch display. There are four USB slots and one SD slot to load your tunes, but music can also be stored to a drive (up to 1TB, not supplied) installed in its 2.5-inch SATA bay. It accepts all popular uncompressed audio formats (FLAC, WAV and ALAC), and can record your DJ mixes live as you play. And, impressively, an independent Zone output can stream a pre-prepared playlist to a second space while you mix it up in the main room.
Speaking of which, there are 14 onboard FX with three parameter adjustments, as well as Sweep and Filter FX that can be applied across all four channels. There are also eight performance pads on each side for triggering hot cues, loops etc, as well as an onboard timestretch function.
The video below will give you more idea of the Prime 4's capabilities. For more info, head over to Denon DJ's own website.
