Wellness is also a key focus of the retreat - although we suspect the price may be off-putting for most of you!
Doorly has joined forces with some of the leading names in dance music worldwide to launch a new global enterprise, Orbit DJ Retreats. Described as providing "an immersive and holistic learning experience for DJ's, producers and music industry enthusiasts to elevate their skills and knowledge to the next level," the first Orbit DJ Retreat will take place on 6-11 October in the middle of Ibiza's Las Salinas national park.
The five-day course will see students tutored by well-known figures in dance music such as Rob Da Bank, Matt Robson-Scott from Gorgon City and Hot Creations' Juliet Fox, as well as specialist Ableton, Logic and Pioneer tutors and representatives from leading industry brands including Ibiza Rocks, Pacha and Avalon Hollywood.
On the wellness front Ian Hurst, co-founder of mental health charity We Are Hummingbird, will provide advice and support for students on how to face the stress and mental health challenges that are often part and parcel of a career in the music industry, while Rob Da Bank and partner Josie will be running the parallel Sleep Retreat, which again is aimed at boosting DJs' overall mental and physical well-being.
"I've been practising yoga, meditating and working with some amazing wellness and spiritual practitioners as part of our festivals for over 15 years now," said Da Bank, "and Josie and I have personally practised yoga for two decades. I'm now ready for the next phase of this journey and am proud to be launching Sleep Retreat in 2019."
The five-day course costs from £1,999 per person, which includes accommodation at the Orbit Finca ranch. More information can be found at Orbit DJ Retreats' own website.
