The organisers of French festival Family Piknik have announced that, due to the pandemic, this year's event will now take place at Montpelier Airport on 12 September, rather than on 25-26 July as originally planned.

In a statement announcing the news, Family Piknik founder Tom Pooks said:

"After several months of doubt and unknowing, it is time we admitted our helplessness in the face of the current health crisis. Like many promoters, artists and festivals, all these months of forced inactivity have a serious impact on our structure and it threatens our whole project. Being able to host this alternative event on 12 September is a kind of last chance opportunity to save our year and imagine a brighter future. We feel like people really need dancing and we’re thrilled to set up our dancefloor next to Montpellier airport’s slopes, which is a very special spot!"

The full line-up for the event is as follows:

Charlotte De Witte
Mind Against B2B Recondite
ARTBAT
Worakls (live)
Popof B2B Oxia
La Fleur
Rodriguez JR (live)
Tom Pooks B2B Joy Kitikonti
Essence Of Time
Abstraal
Pontias B2B Mood Gorning B2B Albanø
The Dualz (live)
Bartok & Canadas

The festival has a reduced capacity of 5000, to allow for the implementation of social distancing measures, and tickets are on sale now, starting at €40. In the event that the coronavirus pandemic forces the cancellation of the September date, too, all tickets purchased will be valid for Family Piknik 2021 instead.
