Thankfully the club was closed at the time and no-one was injured
Police in Glasgow are hunting for two men who were seen reversing a stolen Volkswagen Tiguan into the entrance of the Sanctuary nightclub on Dumbarton Rd at around 11.30 last night and setting it on fire. It is not clear at this stage whether the club was specifically targeted, or merely unlucky - it's not uncommon for joyriders to torch vehicles once they've finished with them and the location, in this instance, could be pure chance.
Fortunately, the club was closed at the time and there were no injuries or fatalities. The two suspects were seen fleeing in a blue Audi RS2, which was later recovered by police in the Lambhill area. A police spokesman said: "Officers are in the process of gathering CCTV footage for review and will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries."
A statement on the club's Facebook page states simply that there was a 'car crash' last night but that the club will be open as normal this weekend.
