The Dubz Audio boss will be joined on 11 November by Sub Zero, Eksman and more
Bristol is famous worldwide for its bass music heritage. Perhaps that's why the city's legendary Lakota club has been chosen by Dubz Audio boss DJ Guv - best known for his 2015 jump-up anthem The Warning - as the first destination for his new roving club night, Guv & Friends.
Guv & Friends will pretty much do what it says on the tin, with the Hackney native playing alongside like-minded selectors from both within the Dubz Audio camp and without. For the inaugural party at Lakota on 11 November, his special guest will be Playaz regular Sub Zero, while representing the Dubz Audio stable you'll find Hedex and Dilate. Also on the bill are rising jump-up stars HizzleGuy and Nu Elementz, while on mic duties for the evening are Eksman, The Real Stormin’ MC, Trigga and Grima X Azza.
Oh yeah, and one other thing: you could be playing there too! There's a 45-minute slot available for the winner of a DJ competition, so head to the event page on Facebook for details of how to enter. The compo is open until 2 November. Alternatively if you just want tickets, those are available via Skiddle.
We're assured this will be only the first in a series of Guv & Friends taking place across the country, but no further dates or destinations have been announced yet, so watch this space...
