VocalSynth offers a whole host of vocal-processing FX in a single plug-in

New from iZotope comes VocalSynth, a one-stop shop for adding FX to vocal parts.

VocalSynth features four vocal engines: Vocoder, Talkbox, Polyvoice (for creating harmonies) and Compuvox (for 'glitchy digital speech'). Both the Vocoder and the Talkbox offer a choice of three modes: smooth/vintage/hard and dark/classic/right, respectively.

On top of this, there's a pitch-correction facility that can be used or abused in much the same way as AutoTune, a host of presets that make it easy to emulate the sound of classic tracks, and a stack of onboard FX including Distort, Filter, Transform, Shred and Delay that enable you to sculpt the sound of your vocal track even more precisely.

To run iZotope VocalSynth, you'll need a PC running Windows 7 or above, or a Mac running OS X 10.8 or above, with a graphics card that supports Open GL 2.0 and a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 chip or better. The plug-in can operate in AAX/AAX AudioSuite (64-bit), DPM AudioSuite (32-bit), VST 2/3 and AU modes, and is compatible with most popular DAWs.
