The iconic Chalk Farm venue will host the only UK date on the Grand Depart tour
German techno producer Fritz Kalkbrenner has announced a UK show to take place at The Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, London on 11 March.
The gig will be Kalkbrenner's only UK stop on his Grand Depart world tour, which promotes the album of the same name that was released on Suol back in October. Kalkbrenner has called the album "the result of taking an idea and working long and hard on it, to finally achieve something incredible that pushes your own boundaries."
He's certainly picked a great place to air the album in London, because The Roundhouse is one of the capital's most iconic venues. It hosted legendary shows by the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Doors and Pink Floyd back in the sixties, and has been the setting for music videos by Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics. Perhaps most aptly, it was also the site of a week-long Spiral Tribe rave during the 13 years it was closed in the eighties and nineties.
DJ support at the show will come from HRRSN, aka fellow Berliner (and fellow Suol recording artist) Ulrich Harrison.
