'Pop Your Funk: The Complete Singles Collection' was previously released on CD in Japan
Disco
nerds will be delighted to hear that a new vinyl boxset featuring all the singles by Arthur Russell's avant-garde disco outfit Loose
Joints is in the pipeline.
Entitled
Pop Your Funk, the 3x12-inch boxset contains no fewer than six different
versions of the band's best-loved tune Is It All Over My Face (as
famously sampled by Roger Sanchez for Underground Solution's Luv
Dancin'), including 2001 MAW remixes, plus three versions of Tell You
Today and three of the title track Pop Your Funk.
A1 Is It All Over My Face (Original 12-inch Version)
A2 Pop Your Funk (Original 12-Inch Version)
B1 Pop Your Funk (Original Single Vocal Version)
B2 Pop Your Funk (Original Single Instrumental Version)
B3 Is It All Over My Face (Original 12-Inch Larry Levan Female Vocal Version)
C2 Tell You Today (Original 12-Inch New Shoes Edit)
D1 Tell You Today (Original 12 Inch Instrumental Version)
D2 Is It All Over My Face (Masters At Work Remix)
E2 Is It All Over My Face (Unreleased Single Female Vocal Version)
F1 Is It All Over My Face (Unreleased Original Full-Length Version)
The
tracks in question have previously been compiled for a Japanese CD,
also called Pop Your Funk, but this is the first time they've been
available together in one vinyl package. The only slight downer is
you're going to have to wait till Record Store Day (16 April) to get
your hands on one!
