With a new EP coming up on Hot Creations, rising Italian star Samuele Scelfo does us a mix
In our Making Waves series we give rising stars of the scene a chance to shine by showing us what they do best. Today it's the turn of young Italian DJ/producer Samuele Scelfo, resident at Siena's Morositas Club, who in just a few short years has racked up releases on Relief, Elrow Music, Snatch!, Müse, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings, and who's got a new EP about to drop on Hot Creations.
Name: Samuele Scelfo
Location: Siena, Italy
Describe the music you make in 20 words or less: Energetic tech-house with acid nuances and weird sounds, combined with a pounding groove and synths.
Five key influences: Tiga, Jamie Jones, Skunk Anansie, Giorgio Moroder, Nirvana
What one artist/producer would you most like to work with, and why? Without a doubt Jamie Jones! I love all his releases, his sound is unique and unmistakable. Can you talk to him? :-)
If people check out just ONE of your tracks, what should it be? Good question! To be honest I don't have a favorite track of mine, so it's hard to answer. I guess I'd say Rock The Beat. It was one of my first productions, Marco Carola played it for a whole year and it allowed me to make myself known in the music sector
What else do iDJ readers need to know? My new EP will be released on Hot Creations on 27 August. They are two really cool tracks in my opinion, go and listen to them!
