The 'Malandro EP' is out 22 December - but if you want the vinyl, book now!

Midnight Social Recordings, the Leeds-born deep and tech house label headed up by Carlo Gambino, will be dropping their 50th release before the year's out. The Malandro EP comes from 3am Recordings boss Al Bradley, who was also responsible for MSR's first ever release back in 2011, and is out digitally on 22 December. Before that, though, there's a limited-edition vinyl run coming via Qrates that's strictly limited to 100 copies - and 60 of 'em are already pre-ordered, which is why we're telling you about it now!

As long-term iDJ readers will know, we've always had a soft spot for 3am Recordings. Way back in 2003 we went with them to their first Miami Winter Music Conference, while the label's first ever compilation a year or so later came attached to the cover of this magazine. Midnight Social's 3am connection is just as strong, with Al having been instrumental in helping Carlo set up the label in the first place. So the pairing of the two for MSR050 - and us telling you about the same in iDJ - makes perfect sense. Hey, it's not nepotism if you're honest about it, right!?

The Malandro EP is made up four tracks: the bassy title cut, the 90s-flavoured Midnight Shakedown, live acid jam Smoked Ribs and the deeper but also 303-tinged Cloudy With A Chance Of Acid. As with all of MSR's output, the EP's had the benefit of being mastered via the golden ears of the legendary Rob Small, and it's out digitally on 22 December. Alternatively, be the coolest DJ on your block by clicking here to pre-order your copy of the vinyl.
