The new airshifters are aimed at "professional and project" studios
Mackie has added two new models to its studio monitor line-up, the XR624 and XR824.
Mackie is already a key player in the monitor sector with its flagship HR series and entry-level CR series. The new XR monitors sit somewhere between the two, boasting many of the features of the HR boxes but at a lower price.
So, the XR624 features a 6.5-inch Kevlar woofer and a frequency response of 45Hz-22kHz, while the XR824 has an 8-inch Kevlar woofer and a frequency response of 36Hz-22kHz. The other specs are the same for both models: logarithmic waveguides, ELP Bass Reflex system, 1-inch black anodized aluminium tweeter, filters to fine-tune the sound to suit your studio space, black grain finish and 160W of power.
The two new models will be available from 1 November, priced $519.99 (£390 approx) for the XR624 and $629.99 (£475 approx for the XR824. For more info, see Mackie's own website.
