The virtual lunchbox ships with seven swappable modules, which can also be purchased separately
Nomad Factory - now part of the Plugivery group - has announced a new plug-in called Analog Studio Factory that emulates a 500 series lunchbox.
With modular 'lunchbox' units having proved extremely popular in the hardware world in the past decade (though they've been around since the late 70s) thanks to the way they make reordering your signal chain so easy, it was inevitable that software emulations of the format would follow. Nomad Factory's offering features seven plug-ins that can be strung together in any order you choose, all of which have been inspired by classic pieces of real-world hardware and all of which can also be purchased separately. Namely, you get the AS-Preamp, the AS-Gate Expander, the AS-Comp Limit limiter, the AS-Exciter, the AS-State EQ, the ES-Pulse EQ (an emulation of the classic 1950s-vintage Pultec MEQ-5) and the AS-Bus Comp.
Analog Studio Rack is Mac- and PC-compatible, and will work as a VST, AAX or AU plug-in. It's available now, priced $199, or you can purchase the individual modules for $49 each. For further details, see the Plugivery website.
