The UK's Perrelli & Mankoff join forces with Mexican producer Carlos Martz

Perrelli & Mankoff have appeared on Rielism before, but for this release they've collaborated with Carlos Martz, and the results are great. The style is hard, uplifting tech-trance and this track is a prime example of the genre done right.

Solar Flare starts with an acidic bassline and kick, then builds to a mini-breakdown before, musically speaking, all hell breaks loose. A twisting synth riff, whispered vocals and risers drive you forward to a proper breakdown, wherein swirling synths lead to a massive riff that kicks off the track again, but even bigger than before. There's a richness of tone to the sounds, and the production is polished and emotive with great attention paid to detail – even the distorted sections sound like they're always controlled. It really does beg be played through a big soundsystem, and has that old school trance feel without being stuck in the past.

There's just the one mix but with one as good as this, who needs another? This is going straight on my memory stick and is earmarked for heavy rotation.
