The EP's out on Monday, but you can check out the J Lauda Remix right here

Today's exclusive track premiere comes to you once more courtesy of our friends at US progressive house label Pangea Recordings, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear the J Lauda Remix of And Breathe by Higgins. The full EP is out on Monday (2 December).

Pangea Recordings should need no introduction to prog lovers by now: the label's been going since 2001, besides which we've premiered several of their previous releases in the past. As for Higgins, he's a UK-based DJ and producer whose career dates back to the mid/late 90s. Originally a drum & bass devotee, he was resident at The Edge in Sheffield, where he played alongside the likes of Micky Finn and DJ SS, before being converted to the prog cause by the likes of Sasha & Digweed, Brian Transeu, Blue Amazon and Paul Van Dyk. He is currently resident at Manchesters's Upcloseandpersonalmcr.

Three mixes make up the And Breathe EP. The Original Mix opens with three minutes of pulsating bass before getting all bleepy on the synths, while there's a darker, techier feel to the remix from Barry Jamieson. But it was the J Lauda Remix with its steady chugging b-line, Eastern-tinged percussion and haunting vocal fragments that caught our ears the most.

See what you think…
