Track is taken from the 'Extend' EP, which will be out on Monday

Today's exclusive track premiere comes to you once more courtesy of our good friends at Pangea Recordings, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Crystal Method by Scippo. The track comes from his four-track Extend EP, which will be in stores from Monday (29 June).

As regular readers should be aware by now – we've previously run several other premieres from the label as well as a Label Of The Month feature – Pangea has been at the forefront of the US progressive house scene for a good decade and a half now, label boss DJ Samer having set up the imprint in Florida in the early 00s before moving it to California in 2007. Scippo, meanwhile, is a young producer from Argentina who made his debut on former iDJ columnist Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat label in 2018, and who had two of his tracks featured on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden compilation for Balance last year.

Elsewhere on the Extend EP you''ll find three more tracks: Extend, Expand and Warning. But we'll skip the usual blow-by-blow, because all three operate in the same kind of musical territory as the track we're presenting today, Crystal Memories: deep, groovy and constantly evolving, with nary a Pavlovian snare roll, operatic vocal or cheesy trance riff in sight. Prog at its best, in other words!

See what you think…
