The track comes from the EP 'The Joint (Remixes)' – out tomorrow on Good For You Records

Today's exclusive track premiere comes courtesy of Kenny Summit's Good For You Records, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear the Jerk Boy Remix of The Joint by Kris Ramea. The track comes from the EP The Joint (Remixes), which is out tomorrow (Friday 22 May).

It may come on a Brooklyn-based label, but this is an otherwise all-Australian affair. Artist and producer Kris Remea hails from Sydney, as does remixer Jerk Boy [pictured], or Adam Stivala. The latter has a string of releases under his belt, working both solo and as one-half of Jack N Jerk, on labels such as Hot Creations, Undr The Radr, MadTech and Clipp.Art. The other remixer featured on the EP, Peekay, hails from Wollongong, a mere 40 miles to the south.

The Joint was first out in March. Now Peekay comes good with a tuff tech-house shuffler of a remix, but the rub that floated our boat the most was Jerk Boy's, which treads a deeper path with warm, rounded bass and lingering piano chords underpinning the hip-house vocal.
