Tucked away on the B is a time machine that'll whisk you straight back to the 90s…
We've got another exclusive track premiere for you today, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear The Organ Project by Mike Catherall. The track is taken from his new EP for Simma Black, Visions, which is out on Friday (10 April).
A resident of Chester in the northwest of England and a working DJ since the late 90s, Mike Catherall has played for the likes of Pacha, Cream, Space, Hed Kandi and Ministry Of Sound, while previous productions have come on the I Am House label. Now, for Low Steppa's Simma Black imprint, he serves up the two-track Visions EP.
The lead/title track is a rolling tech-houser with a repeating "music! music!" vocal that goes straight for the peaktime jugular. It's plenty playable, but the track that got us really excited was the one you'll hear below, whose incessant organ line whisked us straight back to a mid-90s podium somewhere – loafers, shiny shirt and all!
