May 27 is the release date for Enjoy This Trip, an album of new mixes of classic tracks by UK dance music pioneers S'Express.

It's almost impossible to overstate how important S'Express were in the early history of the British house scene. Formed in 1988 by DJ Mark Moore, a veteran of the London club scene since the days of The Blitz and The Mud Club, their debut single Theme From S-Express, a collage of samples from the likes of Rose Royce, Debbie Harry and Alison Moyet, was not only one of the first homegrown house records to top the UK singles chart, it also went to No 1 on the US dance chart, proving that house music was now a truly international phenomenon.

A clutch of follow-up singles and two long-players (1989's Original Soundtrack and 1990's Intercourse) saw the law of diminishing returns kicking in, and by the early 90s Moore was back to pursuing a solo DJing career - as now was S-Express vocalist Sonique. But the band's output retains a special place in the hearts of veteran clubbers.

For this new remix project, Moore himself has recruited a bunch of production talent both well-known (Ray Mang, 'Kinky' Roland Faber, Punks Jump Up, Horse Meat Disco, industrial survivors Chris & Cosey) and less so (Kamp!, Monarchy, Kent Odessa and others) to take on one track each, so there are no '17 versions of one track' issues here. The honour of remixing the band's most iconic track, meanwhile, goes to Tom Furse, of The Horrors fame, and you can hear the fruit of his labours below.

The full tracklist is as follows:

1.      S'Express - Theme From S-Express (Tom Furse Update)
