Brixton show on 29 July will see original ‘Ultraworld’ contributors reunited
On Friday 29 July, ambient house pioneers The Orb will play a special live show at Electric Brixton, London, to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of their seminal debut album The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld.
Joining Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann will be most of the original collaborators who worked on the album, including Martin ‘Youth’ Glover (Killing Joke, Brilliant) and Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy (Gong, System 7), as well as Andy Falconer, Hugh Vickers and Tom Green. Guesting on drums, meanwhile, will be none other than former Sex Pistol, Paul Cook. Lighting will be taken care of by original Orb lighting technician David Herman, who we’re told will “transform Electric Brixton into a vintage fractal technical wonderland”.
Tickets for the show are on sale now, priced £25 plus £2.50 booking fee.
Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld was also recently reissued in a special remastered collector’s edition for Record Store Day on 4x 180gm vinyl.
