UK duo Sonickraft make good use of a brass sample, Morsy remixes

A tasty two-track release here from Sonickraft that's bound to get a crowd grooving – it has plenty of hooks and an individual lead sound that makes it a sure-fire floorfiller.

First up is the Original Mix, which starts with a groove-laden percussive loop that's quickly joined by a punchy, uptempo electro bassline, giving the track a solid foundation. Next into the mix are sci-fi laser stabs which grab your attention and make way for a snare roll that ushers in a hint of the main instrumentation, a brass lead sample, something which is rarely heard and gives this track a hook that will resonate with the crowd. There is also a breakbeat later on (in the breakdown) as well as some vocal samples, making this one hard to ignore.

Remix duties are handled by label debutant Morsy, who takes a slightly deeper approach and starts with a breakbeat and brass stabs, then brings in first the vocal sample then the brass sample in full, which works really well. This mix is probably best reserved for those late-night sets or even a cheeky early drop in the warm-up, as it's not as anthemic as the original but equally capable of getting people into its groove.

For me the Original Mix takes the top prize for its ability to get a crowd in a frenzy while not taking the cheesy route, but both deserve a listen on your next download mission.
