The UK duo come to Ukrainian label Whoyostro

Messrs Howard and Holman do it again, serving up three more cuts showcasing their own, very particular style of tech-house – one that bumps and grooves, rather than banging or twitching with the herd!

This time out they're doing it for Whoyostro, the Ukrainian label set up by Vele in 2013. First out of the traps is Who's Right, a track that (like a lot of their output) mixes tech-house and UK garage influences to delicious effect, then tops the lot with what I'm about 95% sure is a Janet Jackson sample. Next comes the title track Those Who Dance, which centres around a bassline that could shift the asses of the dead and a spoken vocal sample from a TV news report about Studio 54. And then finally there's LD4, which rides slightly more straight-up 4/4s with a hip-house "freestyle fanatic!" vocal snip and another of those hefty basslines that the boys seem to come up with so effortlessly.

It does have to be said that, stylistically, there's not a great deal of variation compared to previous EPs from the duo: it'd be nice, one day, to hear them spread their wings a little wider. But for now, if it ain't broke, why fix it? And the three tracks on offer here certainly aren't broke. Be warned, though… they will smash it!
