Dirtybird co-founder Worthy gets involved on the third release from Vanilla Ace's Wyldcard Records

Dirtybird co-founder and Anabatic Records owner Worthy teams up with Sam Young AKA Vanilla Ace for the club-ready Splurge, which is release #3 from the latter's fledgling Wyldcard label.

In its Original form, Splurge is a feisty tech-house floorfiller that begins with a kick, hi-hats and a repeated vocal sample, then drops to a mini-breakdown where the bassline and incidental sounds are added, along with more vocal chops. The result is a full, fat sound with grooving synth lead lines playing all over it and, all told, it's a highly infectious affair. The first rework is the Alex Twitchy Remix which, like its predecessor, is a siren's call to the dancefloor with a solid bottom-end and loads of sound FX, risers and other crazy sound loops that fit perfectly. Finally you have the Titan Road Remix, another aural tour de force with a clickety-click percussion intro and a different bass sound. This pass has a slightly dubby feel to it yet is still a bona fide rumpshaker, with fast claps and pad sounds adding tension.

This release features three fun, funky foot-stompers that I find hard to believe anyone near a dancefloor could ignore. For that reason it gets the Slade seal of approval and a healthy 9/10 for its creative efforts.
