The Spanish producer also known as Lokomodo serves up a belting two-tracker
Spanish producer Addict Disc, who also records as Lokomodo, comes to Oscar Barila's Cyanide Records with a two-track EP that'll appeal to deep house fans across the board.
It's Emotions itself that's the killer for yours truly. Topping a sumptuous rolling backbeat with a chopped-up female vocal that appears to be saying “talking about the candlelight” – but almost certainly isn't, because that makes very little sense – Emotions has all the funk, soul and groove demanded by more “traditional” deep house fans, while having just enough of a techy, forward-thinking edge to appeal to younger floors as well. Like I said, it's a killer.
Flipside Origenes is none too shoddy either: it's essentially quite similar in MO, only the underlying groove here is a little bassier, more thumping and less smooth-rollin', while the vocal element is restrained to a few breathy wails, some gloriously old school garage-y keys stepping up into the lead role instead.
Cyanide releases seldom disappoint, and this one certainly doesn't.
