The UK house duo drop a killer two-tracker on Crosstown Rebels
It's kind of heartening that, in 2019, you can still come up with a great house record using little more than a well-crafted backbeat and a snatch of classic vocal. This latest from Audiojack being the perfect case in point.
Inside My Head, as astute readers may have already guessed, bites a couple of lines of vocal from Cuba Gooding's Happiness Is Just Around The Bend, as previously sampled by Nightmares On Wax, Bini & Martini, Messiah, Jaydee. Luke Vibert, Dom & Roland and many more. Here, the well-known sample is looped and echoed to within an inch of its life atop swirling Wurlitzer keys and, most notably, an absolute beast of a tech-house bassline, and the end result is a MONSTER of a tune that yours truly hasn't been able to stop playing all week. Behind The Curtain, on the flip, isn't far behind it in the 'big tune' stakes, either. Actually, this one would be a fairly generic tech-houser – were it not for an absolutely huge, dramatic synth that comes reverberating its way across the room at intervals, guaranteeing the dancers' full attention.
Together, the two tracks add up to a package that's pretty much unmissable... and that's just DYING to be played on the biggest speakers available.
