London producer Avesie makes his Techords debut

With releases already under his belt for Witty Tunes, Glasgow Underground, Cr2, Knee Deep In Sound and other well-respected house labels, young London-based producer comes to JoJo Angel's Greek stable Techords Ltd with a very fine EP here.

Just two tracks make up the Lady Luck EP, and both operate right at that point on the musical spectrum where deep house and garage collide. The title track is up first, topping an ever-present bass rumble with bubble sounds, a killer of an M1 (or certainly M1-like) organ line that's buried quite deep in the mix and a soul/R&B-style male vocal, all of which adds up to a cut that's pure bump n' grind from start to finish. And the accompanying On Top is no slouch, either: its bumpin' deep house-meets-garage MO is similar overall, but this one's a little pacier, with a 2-step-ish swing to the beats, another male soul vocal and some funky lil' Rhodes licks in place of the M1.

If you like it big n' strutty AND soulful at the same time, then trust me – this needs to be in your cart this week.
