Artists announced so far include Crazy P, Jocelyn Brown and John Morales
Brixton Disco Festival is to return for its third year running on Saturday 2 May, with the festival taking over four venues around the London borough's Windrush Square.
The four venues in question are Electric Brixton, POW Club, The Ritzy Picturehouse and The Black Cultural Archives. Between them, these four locations will host a day-long programme of live music, DJs, film screenings and talks. Your festival wristband will get you into all four, though the organisers stress that admission to a particular venue at a particular time cannot be guaranteed, and that there's a 1am curfew on moving between venues.
The first wave of artists announced include original disco diva Jocelyn Brown and pioneering remixer John Morales (of 'The M&M Mix' fame), as well as contemporary disco devotees such as Crazy P, Yam Who?, Mighty Mouse, The Reflex, Tayo & Frank Tope, Move DJs and more. Not to mention the Brixton Chamber Orchestra… though what exactly the latter will be doing isn't made entirely clear!
Tickets are available now, starting at £20. For full details, see the festival website.
