Catch him in action in London, Bristol and Manchester
Beatboxer, producer and loop pedal maestro Dub FX is heading to the UK for three live dates next month, as part of a much larger European tour.
Dub FX, otherwise known as Benjamin Stanford, began his career in alt-rock and rapcore bands in Melbourne, Australia in the early 00s. By 2004, though, he'd relocated to Italy and started performing solo shows in which beatboxing and loop pedals featured heavily, and which span a variety of bass-heavy genres: dubstep, hip-hop, reggae and D&B.
To date he has released five albums, all of which he has produced himself, the most recent of which, Thinking Clear, dropped in August this year. His Convoyunltd label has also put out long-players by the likes of Bristolian beatbox-and-sax busker Mr Woodnote.
Entirely independent, Dub FX has carved out a niche of his very own and we strongly recommend you see him in action for yourself! You can do so at:
Scala, London (21 November)
SWX, Bristol (22 November)
Gorilla, Manchester (23 November).
Anyone reading this in mainland Europe will be pleased to hear there are plenty of dates lined up on the continent, too, while he'll also be playing in Australia and New Zealand before the year's out. For the full list of dates, hit up Dub FX's own website.
