The single's out tomorrow on Circus Recordings, with three mixes in total
Our second great track exclusive this week comes to you courtesy of Yousef's Circus Recordings label. Moan is the work of Italian producer Leonardo Gonnelli, and here's your first chance to hear the remix by fellow Italian Stefano Noferini.
Hailing from Florence, Leonardo Gonnelli started DJing and producing around the turn of the millennium. Since then, he's gone on to have his tracks featured on such esteemed labels as Get Physical, ViVA Music, 2020Vision, Knee Deep In Sound and Seth Troxler's Play It Say It.
Remixer Stefano Noferini, meanwhile, is perhaps best known as the boss of Italy's Sound4Group, which includes the labels Deeperfect, Loud Bit Records and Italian Communication among others, while elsewhere his own music has appeared on the likes of Spinnin' Deep, Kling Klong, 1605 Music Therapy, Stealth, Toolroom Trax and Azuli.
Moan marks the Circus debut of both artists. Gonnelli's original is a slice of deep tribalism topped with snatches of near-falsetto male vocal, while The Mekanism supply a stripped-back refix with sirens and lashings of fat bass. But it was the slightly higher tempo tech-house remix from Noferini, with its constantly evolving top-end percussion and wonky, warping bassline that caught our ears the most.
See what you think...
