2 Bit Thugs

The BEK Audio boss comes to Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave

A fine techno release here on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave label, featuring two tracks that are both proper party-starters.

First up we have Just One More itself. The track kicks off with a thudding kick, shuffling percussion and a one-note bassline, then slowly builds with claps and a synth note to the female sung vocal, which is a hook and a half and makes this so much more than just another minimal techno track. The voice is echoed and panned in places, flying from speaker to speaker and sounding great for it - at only 5:30 long, you're left positively begging for more when it ends!

The second track, Round My Place, is another builder with layers of percussion coming straight at you, along with a stabbing great slab of a synth riff that gives the track a very grandiose feel and plays well with the tribal drumming, which pounds away relentlessly and sounds positively scintillating.

Both tracks are full of tension and sound super-sweet on a large soundsystem, and will shake the foundations of many a club over the coming months. But my favourite has to be the title track, because the vocal really makes it stands out from the crowd and adds soul and passion by the bucketload.
