Amnesia are just on a day trip; Pacha are opening a new club
This week saw two giants of the Ibiza club scene making moves UK-wards, with Amnesia announcing a one-off London party while Pacha revealed the first details of a new London branch of its Lío chain of 'cabaret restaurants'.
Amnesia will be first off the blocks, taking over the Drumsheds in Edmonton for an event called PYRAMID on 3 September. The day-into-night party runs from noon till 10.30pm, and will feature both an indoor and an outdoor stage. The latter will see Ricardo Villalobos, Honey Dijon, Special Request [pictured], Mar-T B2B Luca Lonzelli and The Blessed Madonna taking care of deck duties, while indoors on the Warehouse Stage, stage hosts Do Not Sleep welcome Ilario Alicante, Richy Ahmed, Marco Faraone, Sidney Charles B2B Prunk and Ray Mono. Tickets start at £39.50 – see their website for details.
Details of Pacha's new venture are a little more patchy: no opening date has yet been announced, for instance. What we do know is that the new Lío will open up in the space formerly known as Cafe De Paris, which has operated as a nightclub since the jazz era, and that the opening of a new permanent branch of the Lío chain in London follows a successful pop-up venture in 2019.
The new club will be Pacha's first permanent foothold in the UK capital since Pacha London closed its doors in 2014, after 13 years. Again, see their website for more details.
