Mixcloud Live will host the fundraiser for cancer charity Macmillan UK
John Digweed has announced that there's a second volume of his Quattro compilation coming on his own Bedrock label in February.
The first volume of Quattro dropped back in April, and was a four-disc set, with two discs of ambient/cinematic sounds and two of house, techno and breaks, all previously unreleased and all skillfully blended together by the man himself. And now he's repeating the track, with the four discs on Quattro II again titled Soundscape, Tempo, Redux and Juxtaposition and following the same pattern as the last album. The big difference this time around is that, where the first volume was entirely mixed by Digweed, the Juxtaposition disc for Quattro II has been mixed by Robert Babicz.
The album's due out on 23 February, and will be limited to a single pressing. But if you pre-order now via the Bedrock website, you can get your hands on one of the ultra-limited signed CDs, or a copy of the hand-numbered and autographed five-disc vinyl version.
In the meantime, Digweed will be hosting a New Year's Eve livestream in aid of Macmillan UK, a charity that works to support cancer patients and their families. Hosted by Mixcloud Live, the event will run from 9.30pm-1am and admission costs just £6 – click here for your ticket. But, says Digweed, the price has been kept deliberately low to allow as many people as possible to sune in, and anyone who can afford to do so is politely requested to make a donation to the charity as well, which you can do here.
