2 Bit Thugs

There's just the one mix but that's all you'll need, says Danny Slade

Since emerging onto the scene back in 2012, Leftwing : Kody have cemented themselves as respected heavyweights of the house world and tracks of this calibre will further cement their reputation.

I Feel It showcases the duo’s ear for quality production, and right off the bat you know you've got something special. It starts with a skippy percussion loop which is soon joined by a punchy kick, vocals, and a funky bassline that's underpinned by a subtle synth riff. Then we reach the chorus, a hands-in-the-air affair with a full female vocal and a jangly piano riff that harks back to piano house tracks of yesteryear but features state of the art production values, with the piano’s timbre crisp and clear and the vocal sharp and refined. As the main body of the track kicks in all you want to do is get up and dance, because this one is as infectious as you can get, with great attention paid to the incidental sounds which all have their part to play. There's a bridge with brooding synth chords and a one-note string line, and then it's back to the chorus. As the track plays out you can’t help thinking that it could have been longer, but then perhaps it wouldn't have quite the same uplifting impact...

There's just the one mix, but one is all you need – expect to hear a lot of this tune on many a dancefloor over the coming months.
