Today's Making Waves mix is one for lovers of wonky bass and off-kilter electronica

Our Making Waves slot showcases DJ mixes by rising stars. Today it's the turn of London-based experimental musician, producer and A/V artist Halina Rice…

Name: Halina Rice

Location: London, UK

Describe the music you make in 20 words or less: Uniting elements of ambient, electronic and bass music ranging from evocative and melancholic soundscapes to beat-driven tracks.

Five key influences: Rival Consoles. Nathan Fake, Clark, Cocteau Twins, Keijiro Takahashi.

What one artist/producer would you most like to work with, and why? I would love to work with Sascha Ring (Apparat) to push the boundaries of sound design – he makes interesting crossover work between vocal and non-vocal.

If people check out just ONE of your tracks, what should it be? Terrain

What else do iDJ readers need to know? My next single Breaks will be out in April. The music is also performed as a live 'virtual stream' where I am projected into a virtual world designed in computer gaming software. It's been described by viewers as 'next level' and 'the future of performance'. Check it out on my YouTube channel!

Halina Rice's latest single Terrain is out now. Her next release Breaks will follow next month
