With the remixes from his debut long-player out now, Germany's Wigbert does us a mix…

In our Making Waves slot, we showcase DJ mixes by rising stars of the scene. Today it's the turn of German techno producer Wigbert, whose debut album Distorted Matter dropped back in January, with an EP featuring remixes from the likes of Pan-Pot and Matrixxman also out now on Pan-Pot's Second State label…

Name: Wigbert

Location: Offenbach

Describe the music you make in 20 words or less: Hypnotic techno

Five key influences: Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Luke Slater, Marcel Dettmann, my very first big rave in Berlin 2002.

What one artist/producer would you most like to work with, and why? Luke Slater, because I’m a big fan of his music and he is one of my favourite producers. His productions have something special and it’s a great imagination to work with him on a project.

If people check out just ONE of your tracks, what should it be? Distorted Matter

What else do iDJ readers need to know? During the covid pandemic, I started a streaming series with own created visual productions on my YouTube channel. I wanted to learn more about creating visuals and the interaction with my music. In that way I would like to give the people music and art to help stay strong in these hard times. Besides that, the remix EP of my debut album Distorted Matter is out now, and features some amazing remixes from some of my favourite artists.

The Distorted Matter Remixes EP is out now on Second State
