MINT Festival 2021 is scheduled for 25 September, and tickets are selling fast
Leeds-based dance music brand MINT, who own the city's MINT and MINT Warehouse venues and the MINT Festival, have bought a 136-acre farm located just 10 minutes' drive from the city centre – thus ensuring the annual festival, which has previously been staged in various locations across Yorkshire and the northeast, now has a permanent home.
With 20 years running the original club and 10 years' festival experience behind them, the MINT team say they have been looking for a fixed festival base for the past three years, and have found what they needed in the form of Newsam Green Farm. The site comprises a farmhouse, several large agricultural buildings, acres of woodland and 123 acres of grassland, and the £5M sum mentioned above includes both the purchase of the property itself, and the cost of the various improvements, alterations and additions that the MINT team will be making going forward.
“We are extremely happy to have acquired the Farm,” said MINT founder Shane Graham. “Not only is it 10 minutes out of the city centre, but it also boasts acres of greenery, woodland and amazing views that make the perfect background for a music festival. Now that we have a permanent home, we can channel our energies into developing the amazing features and make sure Leeds is home to one of the best festival sites in the UK!”
The line-up for MINT Festival 2021, which takes place on 25 September, will be announced in a few weeks' time.
