It's the London-based label's first ever release
What we have here is the debut offering from Kreis Recordings, a new techno label based in London.
Their all-important first release is provided by two young UK techno producers who normally work separately: Muirdel (real name Alex Muirden) and Vinny Caparatti. Their original mix of Fade To Black is a deep, dark and decidedly groovy affair that'll work on techno and tuffer house floors alike with its insistent, throbbing backbeat, off-beat hi-hats and menacing, distorted spoken male vox ("Strip it back, fade to black, through the night, all right"). Save it for those locked-on, small-hours moments, though, cos if you play this one in the warm-up you're likely to scare the horses! And that goes double for the B-side remix from Rose Tinted & Anna Be, which is pacier and takes us into more straight-up techno territory.
The A's the one here for me, but either one will do when you need to turn the dark up, and only you can say which will work best for your floors.
