Enzo Siragusa headlines the opening party on 26 June
Manchester is getting a brand new music venue in the form of SQUARE ONE, a new open-air space on the site of a former car park close to Deansgate and the city's Piccadilly railway station.
SQUARE ONE will host a series of parties this summer, with all events running from 2pm-11pm. The opening bash on 26 June will star Italian techno and tech-house fave Enzo Siragusa, who'll be playing from opening to close; after that, there are confirmed bookings for Hot Since 82, Denis Sulta, Mella Dee and a host of supporting talent.
July wlll also see a showcase from Dutch label PIV Records (who, you may recall, also featured on this very website just a few weeks ago).
The full timetable is as follows:
27 Jun - Mella Dee, Haider, Aletha, Joe Motion, Zutekh DJs
17 Jul - Denis Sulta, Matrefakt, Gina Breeze, Opus Klien
18 Jul - Hot Since 82, James Organ
24 Jul - PIV Showcase (line-up TBA)
What happens after that isn't entirely clear – nothing in the information we've seen says whether the plan is for SQUARE ONE to be a permanent fixture on the map, or whether it's more of a "pop-up" thing. So we'll bring you more information on that front when we have it
In the meantime, keep an eye on SQUARE ONE's own website for tickets and news updates.
