The track comes from his collaborative long-player with Rorquals, 'Symbiosis', which has just been released
Today's exclusive track premiere finds us in D&B territory, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Brain Chamber by Dead Circuits.
The track is taken from Symbiosis, a new joint album by Rorquals & Dead Circuits that sees the two experimental producers contributing two solo productions apiece, and collaborating on a further two tracks – with Brain Chamber being one of Dead Circuits' solo offerings.
Dead Circuits hails from Southend, and says of the sound he makes: "I record my performances in a single take with an on-the-fly arrangement, using handbuilt drone synths, effects and modular synths". Given that Rorquals also hails from Southend, and describes his work as "the exploration of experimental drone music through amplified guitar, organ and electronics," it's not hard to see how the two ended up joining forces, is it?
It has to be said that Brain Chamber isn't entirely representative of the album as a whole. Much of the rest of Symbiosis leans more heavily to the experimental/drone side of things, and as such it's perhaps more one for the leftfield lovers and technoheads than the proverbial junglist massive. But with its dark stepper's rhythm, layers of atmospherics and brooding, dystopic overall vibe, it shows Dead Circuits is clearly no slouch in the D&B department, either.
