Check out this cut from his brand new 'Organic' EP for PIAS Recordings
For today's exclusive track premiere we're delighted to herald the return of a producer we haven't heard from in a while, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear Rich Man by Junior Jack. The track is taken from his new EP Organic, which is out on PIAS Recordings on Friday (4 October).
Born in Italy but raised in Belgium, Vito Lucente first adopted the name Junior Jack in the late 90s, shooting instantly to fame with the Alexander O'Neal-biting disco-houser My Feeling. A string of hits including E Samba, Thrill Me and Da Hype saw him become one of the most commercially successful house producers of the early 00s – not to mention picking up a coveted iDJ Player Of The Year award in 2003 – but things slowed down by the mid-00s, and he's released very little under the Junior Jack moniker since 2007 (with the exception of some remixes and 2017 single Wonder).
Until, as they used to say on Tomorrow's World, now. As stated above, this Friday sees the release of his comeback EP Organic, which is a three-track affair. The title track is a bottom-heavy chugger with an almost rave-y synth bassline by way of a main hook, while Tweety is a bleepy tech-houser built to encourage the throwing of shapes out on the floor. But the track that caught our ears the most was Rich Man, a nifty little house roller with a spring in its step and a cheeky jazz twinkle in its eye.
See what you think…

**UPDATE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated this was the first Junior Jack release since 2007. This has now been amended.
