The German duo come to Vanilla Ace's label with a deep/tech house workout that's hip to the tip, Daddio…
Our second exclusive track premiere this week comes courtesy of Vanilla Ace's Wyldcard label, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Wanted Thing from Ausem FF. The track's out tomorrow (Friday 24 April), b/w You're You.
Ausem FF, otherwise known as Finn Ernst and Fabio Mezei, are a German duo who've been making tunes together since 2016. They've previously featured on labels such as My Favourite Freaks and Roger Sanchez's Undr The Radr, and credit the S-Man, a key supporter, as having been the main driver of their success over the past few years, which has included a Beatport tech-house Top 10 placing with their remix of Klaus Keller's Hard Work.
Here, though, they make their debut on Vanilla Ace's Wyldcard with the two-track Wanted Thing EP. The accompanying You're You is a lolloping tech-house affair with a fat bottom end, reversed-sounding synths and unintelligible vocal fragments, but it was the A-side's title cut that grabbed us most on first hearing, a track that'll slide neatly into tech-house sets for sure but that'd be equally at home on deeper floors with its jazzy sax parps, live-sounding funk bass and cut-up female vocal snips.
There's a remix package coming soon, but in the meantime, feast your ears (and your dancing feet) on the original…
