The northeast London studio is home to an enviable array of analogue gear as well as state-of-the-art digital equipment

The team behind long-running London house and techno night Secretsundaze have announced their latest project: a new studio complex at Secretsundaze HQ in London Fields, Hackney.

Secretsundaze founders Giles Smith and James Priestley have created a recording, production and mixdown facility with the help of existing Secretsundaze artists such as George Levings, Sam Jones and Tony Nwachukwu. The studio (and the rest of Secretsundaze' offices) are housed in The Laundry, a 24-hour 'multi-use workspace' for the creative industries with its own restaurant.

The air-conditioned studio, which houses a raft of both analogue and digital equipment including valve amps and vintage tape machines, will be available for hire by aspiring bands, artists and producers on a 24/7 basis, and a sound engineer can come as part of the package if required. Mixing and mastering sessions will also be available, and going forward Secretsundaze plan to introduce a series of music production courses at different levels. The studio will also host a monthly evening session, in association with fellow London promoters CDR, which will give budding producers the chance to hear what their bedroom productions sound like in a professional studio environment, and get feedback from Nwachukwu and others.

James Priestley said: "Secretsundaze Studios has been a meeting of minds and circumstance. It’s come at a time when Giles and I have finally started to collaborate on the production side of things, plus it also links well to our continued passion for nurturing new talent and extending the Secretsundaze network that feeds into our record label and sister booking agency, TSA Artists."

In other Secretsundaze news, the Secretsundaze Summer Opening Party was recently announced, which will see house legend Lil Louis and Bergain resident Steffi joining Kornel Kovaks, Moxie, K15, Esa and the Secretdundaze residents at St John of Hackney Wick from 2pm-11pm on 30 April. Also announced were two Secretsundaze parties during OFF Week in Barcelona, one at Parc Del Forum Beach on 17 June and the other at La Terrazza on 19 June.
