Bicep themselves headline, with support from Craig Richards, Phil Kieran and more
Club nights don't come much more legendary than Shine in Belfast. The club that once featured Phil Kieran as resident (and Annie Mac as cloakroom attendant!) recently celebrated its 21st birthday, having welcomed everyone from Green Velvet, Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier to Groove Armada, Andrew Weatherall and Deep Dish over the years. And today, they announced the line-up for their Christmas event, which is at Shine's usual home, Queen's University Students Union, on 26 December.
They're handing over the reins on this occasion to local heroes Bicep and their Feel My Bicep night, which has recently hosted sold-out parties at ADE and The Warehouse Project. Naturally Bicep themselves will headline, supported in the main room by Craig Richards and Shine ressies Swoose & Cromby. Berghain's nd_baumecker tops the bill in Room 2, supported by Feel My Bicep residents Brassica and Hammer. Room 3 has Phil Kieran and Clouds, while in Room 4 you'll find Schmutz and Holly Lester.
Announcing the party details, Matthew McBriar of Bicep said: "Going to Shine as a teenager in the late 90s and 00s opened my eyes. You could see Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Billy Nasty. We played their birthday party this year and you could see how deep the culture goes: there's now two or three generations of Belfast DJs, producers and promoters who've been inspired by Shine."
Tickets are on sale from Friday, priced £20 for students and £22 for the rest of us. You can get yours from the Shine website.
