Relive the early days of acid house on Friday 8 November
Electric Brixton is to host a special one-off Shoom party at Electric Brixton, London on 8 November, with main man Danny Rampling joined by fellow veterans Inner City (playing live) and Farley & Heller, plus rising vocalist and producer Ilona.
The original Shoom, which was held in the unlikely surroundings of a fitness centre in Southwark in central London, ran from 1987-1990 and played a central role in the acid house explosion of the late 80s. In more recent years, founder Danny Rampling has revitalised the Shoom brand: initially just for 25th and 30th anniversary parties, but since then as a series of one-off events across Europe, including a NYE party in Amsterdam and a sold-out show in Brighton back in May.
As for the night at Electric Brixton, we're told to expect "modern acid house combined with original Shoom classics, smileys, smoke, strobes, confetti, sirens – the whole package!"
The event runs from 10pm till 5am and tickets are available now, currently priced £25.50.
