Welsh duo Sonickraft serve up a peaktime number built to cause carnage on the floor
Swansea-based Sean Godsall and Jon Lewis, AKA Sonickraft, deliver the goods on a single-track tech-house release with bags of dancefloor energy.
Make You Last Forever starts with a bass tone, a metallic hi-hat and a clap, which are joined by a booming kickdrum and distorted bassline before the track charges on with loads of risers, odd percussive sounds and strange noises that give it a rich, warm yet somehow sinister feel. There's a vocal line about making you last forever, which is pitched low and sounds slightly menacing, enhancing the tension that the track already has by the bucketload and that's accented by a number of breakdowns. The production is spot on, with all of the sounds sitting perfectly in the mix, and it sounds HUGE at high volumes which is going to stand it in good stead out on the dancefloor. Definitely one for peak-time play.
I haven't had a chance to road test Make You Last Forever yet, but it's on my memory stick - filed under 'stompers'. I can’t wait to drop it to the right crowd and watch it fly.
