Heads-down grooves that won't alienate househeads, either
Texas-born but Mexico-city based producer Spettro serves up four slices of dark, driving tech for Pig & Dan's Elevate label here that, crucially, won't send house lovers scurrying for the bar either.
Ba'al's Hour, a heads-down affair with proggy overtones, gets the ball rolling. That's followed by the funkier tech-houser NYCleanse, which has just a hint of classic rave-y strut around the edges. Revenge Of The Herd is a more druggy, 4am kinda thang and then finally Shadow Confrontation sees deep techno, acid and prog collide on one 5:21-long trip from the heart of the dancefloor to the outer limits of your mind…
All told, this is quality stuff that'll work on a range of floors. Already finding favour with the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Nadja Lind, Pan Pot and Lee Van Dowski, the EP is well worth checking for yourself.
